Seth Boerboom is an Ag Engineer Intern joining Raven Engineered Films for the summer. Seth is going into his senior year at South Dakota State University, where he studies Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering.
Summer at Raven
Seth’s main focus this summer will be running a field trial at the Raven Innovation Campus in Baltic, SD. There, he will test a variety of our highly engineered films, focusing on how the color of the film affects soil temperatures and plant growth. By doing this, Seth will help Raven Engineered Films determine which film types and colors will be the most beneficial.
Seth’s favorite thing about Raven is how friendly everyone has been. This summer is Seth’s first internship experience, so he is excited about the knowledge that he will gain and the opportunities that he will be exposed to in the engineering field. He explained that the Raven Internship Program is unique because he is able to have a lot of control over conducting the field trial, and it will be a special hands-on learning experience.
The Raven Value of Integrity is Seth’s strongest. He prides himself in being honest and straightforward with people, and he has no problem standing up for what he believes in. Seth explained that he ensures quality by taking his time. When he does something, he wants to make sure that it is done right so that he can be proud to tell people what he has accomplished.
More About Seth
Seth chose SDSU because he felt that he was close enough to home, Cottonwood, MN, to be able to visit every once and a while, but far enough away for him to meet new people and join the community of Brookings. In his free time, Seth enjoys spending time outdoors playing baseball and disc golfing.
